It says 2018.
I have an agency on the agenda.
It doesn't work much.
And I'm the master brake.
I do not manage to work with people, solve products, strategy is a Spanish village for me, excel is the enemy, we do not have processes, training saves us.
Not much.
Plus, I figure everything out on my own.
And I'm lost.
We fill out SWOTKA. ❌
Value proposition canvas. ❌
Business model canvas. ❌
Lean canvas. ❌
We address the mission, the vision, the values. ❌
It doesn't work much.
Then came the turning point.
I happen to discover Wardley's maps. 🗺️
I'm reading Simon's book.
I'm going to mapping conferences in England.
I'm mapping. I'm mapping. I'm mapping.
And then we map. We map. We map.

I see what's going on.
I can see what we can do.
We have a way of talking about everything.
And we begin to understand each other.
We change products. We anticipate a gradual commoditization of UX design. We choose Webflow instead of hiring programmers. We talk about the structure of the company, what we do and what we don't do. And why.
We're handling the situation with a strategic perspective that I've never had before.

As a bonus, they complement with other frameworks and canvasses... instead of being exclusionary.
The best thing about this reflection is that I didn't realize the huge difference until a friend asked me a question: “Were Wardley's maps really that important to you?” Yep. They were. They are. And I'm not alone in this.
Last week, the Spring Cycle of Strategic Thinking 2025 ended. What did the participants tell me?
👉 It's already changing things in the company (in 3 weeks!).
👉 I can think of things I wouldn't normally think of.
👉 I got there in 9 minutes (!!!) from a map to a functional prototype that I can start validating.
👉 I did an internal seminar after training. Frameworks accelerate discussions in the company (in 3 weeks!).
👉 As an employee, I influence the direction. One map has already changed decisions in the organization.
👉 Every Saturday we do a mapping morning with the whole team.
👉 I have known mapping before, but it has never had such practical implications for me.
👉 Jane, dear. That training is worth a lot more than what it costs.
